Where we work in Enfield
Most weeks the diary runs from the Victorian and Edwardian terraces around Palmers Green and Green Lanes across to the ex-council blocks off Fore Street in Edmonton. Two ends of the borough, two different kitchens. The terraces near Devonshire Road still have freestanding cookers in old chimney breasts; the flats by Edmonton Green Shopping Centre run to fitted single ovens, some barely used, some caked.
Ponders End and Enfield Lock give us the estate work, where the 1950s to 70s EN3 blocks nearly always mean a single. The newer picture is Meridian Water: the Meridian One flats on Leeside Road are integrated singles behind a matching door, and at the old Alma Estate the towers came down for the Elements development by Ponders End station.
The Chase side and the range cookers
Go west and up the hill and it changes again. Around The Ridgeway and Gordon Hill, the big detached houses on tree-lined turnings hold the range cookers, and this is where the 90cm Rangemasters and two-oven AGAs turn up. An AGA is a different job to a fitted single: the enamel and cast lids need care rather than muscle, and we split the door where the design allows. If you have got one, our AGA cleaning covers it the way that cooker needs. A single takes about ninety minutes; a double runs closer to two hours.
A single in an Edmonton flat and an AGA on the Chase are the same trade, not the same afternoon.
Rentals and turnaround
Enfield has a deep rental market, and the letting-agent names tell you where. Mortemore Mackay have been on The Grangeway at Grange Park since 1984, Havilands built the N21 side of Winchmore Hill, and Eagle Letting Bureau has run lettings up here since the 70s. Where the agents cluster, tenancies churn, and the checkout oven clean is the deposit line that gets argued over. We clean it, heat-test it and sign it off, so the clerk has nothing to dock.
Parking the van
Parking matters here, because everything ferries to and from the van. Since August 2023 the whole borough sits inside ULEZ, which is the van's problem, not yours, and there is no call-out fee inside the North and South Circular. The day-to-day issue is the controlled parking zones, which keep spreading through Edmonton Green, Lower Edmonton and Bowes Park. If your road is a CPZ or a tight terrace with no frontage, tell us when you book and we will sort the loading.

Questions we get asked
Do you clean the ovens in the new Meridian Water flats?
Yes. The Meridian One and Alma Estate flats are nearly all integrated single ovens behind a matching door, and those are a straightforward single at £77.
Will there be a smell afterwards?
No. The caustic soak stays in the tank in the van. Indoors we only use non-caustic products by hand, so the kitchen is fine to use once we have heat-tested it.
My road is a permit zone, is that a problem?
Not if you flag it when booking. We deal with Enfield CPZs most days, and it does not change the price.
Can you do the hob and hood at the same time?
Yes, and most people do. A hob is £23–28 and an extractor hood £28 on top of the oven, done in the same visit.
