A whole neighbourhood of the same-age kitchens
Enfield Island Village was built by Fairview New Homes between 1997 and 2003 on 100 acres of the old Royal Small Arms Factory site, and it now holds more than 1,300 homes with around 3,000 people in them, a quarter of it social housing, running from one-bedroom flats up to five-bedroom houses. That does something unusual to the oven work. Most of the appliances there went in within one six-year window, so they are the same generation of built-under integrated fit-out, and a lot of them are now on their second or third household. The older side of the lock is a different job
Enfield Lock proper sits east of the Hertford Road, between Turkey Street and the Holmesdale Tunnel, down to the Lee Navigation. The lock that gives the place its name was rebuilt in 1922. The streets around Ordnance Road are a mix rather than one estate, and freestanding cookers turn up more often out there, which is easier work: more room round the sides, more to lift out.

Parking is mostly free out here, with exceptions
Much of EN3 is unrestricted, which helps. The Electric Quarter zone is the one to flag: it runs 8am to 6.30pm Monday to Sunday over streets including Belling Crescent, Beryl Street, Ediswan Way and Colwell Crescent, so if that is you, say so when you ring.

Will it pass a check-out inventory?
That is what the dip tank is for. Racks come back clean rather than wiped, and the glass is done from the inside where the inventory clerk looks.
My oven is built under the worktop and cannot be moved. Is that a problem?
No. Nothing needs to come out of the housing. The parts that lift out go to the van and the rest is hand-cleaned in place.
Is EN3 charged differently to inner London?
No. £77 for a single is the same number everywhere, quoted on the phone before you book.
Can you come at a weekend?
Yes, seven days a week, weekends included. The price does not change on a Sunday.
