Charles Lamb died in 1834 at Bay Cottage on Church Street, Edmonton, a cottage of the late 17th or early 18th century now listed Grade II* for its association with him and his sister Mary.
Church Street, a conservation area since 1970
Besides Lamb's cottage, Church Street has All Saints church, mainly 15th century with 12th-century fragments, a charity school founded in 1778, and Georgian houses at Nos. 19 and 21. John Keats was apprenticed to a surgeon nearby from 1810; that house was pulled down in 1931. To the west and north of Church Street, the Hyde House estate was built up in the 1880s.

The Hyde estate round Hazelbury Green
The Hyde estate was Edmonton Urban District Council's first council housing after the First World War. Niven and Wigglesworth designed it as garden-city semis set in closes, begun in August 1920, and the first 232 houses were finished by May 1922. They were built with bathrooms, inside toilets and hot water, and with the living rooms turned to face south. The council kept building there with its own workforce, and by 1940 the estate had 1,124 houses. Hazelbury Green, with its four railed lawns, is the main green.
Where one of these semis has had its kitchen extended, a built-in double at eye level is a usual choice. The racks, trays and side runners come out and are soaked and cleaned separately, and the cavities, the fan cover and the door glass are degreased by hand in the kitchen, with dust sheets down first.

Is Church Street in a parking zone?
Partly. On the council's zone boundary file as archived in December 2022, only the short stretch at the Green end was inside a zone (its hours are on the Edmonton Green page), while Stanley Road, Hydeside Gardens, All Saints church and Hazelbury Green were outside any zone. Check the sign, because the team needs somewhere to park near the door.
Do you cover N18 as well as N9?

Very satisfied with the service. They were slightly late at first but I got a call from customer service to let me know, and it was all fine. The oven man, as he called himself, arrived and worked very hard for a couple of hours. My oven now looks like it has never been used.
Nice hardworking lads that always do a good job. We used them for our old flat when moving out and for the new one now, both jobs were done very professionally. My wife is very impressed with the results and would recommend them to friends and family.
