Ebbsfleet International stands on International Way, DA10 1EB, a large-user postcode brought in during January 2008 and belonging to that one address rather than to a street. The station sits about 400 metres south-west of Northfleet station, off the A2, five miles from the M25 junction. Almost everything around it is newer than the platforms.
Three villages are going into a chalk quarry
Whitecliffe, the old Eastern Quarry, is being built as three: Ashmere west, Alkerden middle, Castle Hill east. Castle Hill is finished. Springhead Park, next to the station, was the first part of the garden city to be lived in. Names matter on the phone here, because a DA10 postcode covers ground that changes shape year to year and the satnav is often a step behind.
The build-out figures, as the corporation gives them
Ebbsfleet Development Corporation was set up in 2015 to deliver up to 15,000 homes. Its own timeline puts the 4,000th completion in 2024, doubling the housing stock in four years. A press release dated 8 January 2026 said more than 5,000 homes had been delivered across the wider garden city. Ebbsfleet Central, the commercial core, is to add more than 3,000 homes, and it went out to infrastructure tender that same month.
A whole town of ovens the same age
That is the unusual thing about DA10. There is barely any Victorian or interwar stock to speak of, so the kitchens are new-build almost across the board, which in practice means an integrated single oven in a housing column and a hood that has never been taken apart since handover. Integrated ovens sit in a cabinet and cannot be pulled out to a garage, so the cleaning has to come to the kitchen. Ours does. Racks, shelves and trays go out to the heated tank in the van, and the cavity, fan cover and door glass are degreased by hand indoors with non-caustic products.

The soaking only touches removable parts, and nothing caustic goes near the cavity. It is heat-tested and signed off before we leave.
Can you park at Alkerden or Ashmere?
Usually. Tell us the plot or block name when you book, because street layouts here change as phases hand over.
Is this enough for a check-out inventory?
Yes. Where the design allows it the door glass is split and cleaned between the panes, which is what gets marked down.

Very satisfied with the service. They were slightly late at first but I got a call from customer service to let me know, and it was all fine. The oven man, as he called himself, arrived and worked very hard for a couple of hours. My oven now looks like it has never been used.
