The old Old Oak cottage estate around East Acton station is where a lot of our work sits, and those 1920s garden-city cottages, red brick, front gardens, privet hedges, were built with small kitchens that mostly hold a freestanding cooker or a 60cm built-in double rather than a wide range. The estate ran to over a thousand homes when the London County Council finished it, and many are still lived in long term by the same families, so the ovens we open have years of roasting behind the door. That is the sort of build-up the dip-tank was made for.
On the W12 side, past the estate towards Old Oak Common, the ground is changing fast. The OPDC scheme around the new HS2 and Elizabeth line hub is set to bring thousands of new flats, and the first blocks already have builder-fitted single ovens that come to us clean-in-place. There is no chemical smell after we finish, since the caustic soak stays out in the van and the enamel and glass are done by hand.

Most cottage kitchens book a double oven with the hob. Our hob cleaning is £23–28 and the burners and pan supports go in the tank with the shelves. Prices are fixed on the phone, with no call-out fee inside the North and South Circular.

Not much. The messy soaking happens in the van, so indoors we only need the space around the oven itself.
The cooker is old. Will you still clean it?
Yes. Older freestanding cookers are common on the estate and we clean them the same way. We heat-test before leaving.
