The kitchens are a legacy of Bedsitter Land
Earl's Court picked up the name Kangaroo Valley in the late 1960s, when Australian and New Zealand travellers used it as a London hub because it was one of the cheapest places this close to the middle, and the stucco terraces around Trebovir Road and Templeton Place were carved into bedsits, hostels and small hotels to hold them. That carve-up never got undone.
So the ovens are small. Plenty are freestanding 50cm or 60cm cookers in a galley, and a fair number are integrated singles dropped into a conversion where the kitchen used to be a landing. The garden-square addresses are another matter. Nevern Square, Philbeach Gardens, Earls Court Square and Barkston Gardens have proper mansion-flat kitchens, and that is where the 90cm ranges turn up.
The bays here run until ten at night
This one catches people. Earl's Court parking is enforced 8.30am to 10pm, Monday to Saturday, which is later than most of Kensington and Chelsea and much later than the Westminster zones over in Bayswater. An evening appointment still needs a paid bay. That is our problem to plan around and it does not change the price.

The flat is a fourth-floor walk-up. Is that a problem?
No. Most of the Nevern Square and Philbeach Gardens conversions are walk-ups. The racks, shelves and side runners go down to the van in a couple of trips.
Will it smell of chemicals?
No. The soaking happens in the heated tank in the van and the indoor products are non-caustic. In a studio that matters.
How long for a single oven?
About ninety minutes. Then it is heat-tested and signed off.
