Drayton Park is a street before it is anything else, and it runs down the west flank of the Emirates Stadium towards Holloway. The stock along it is mostly four-bedroom Victorian terraces, kitchens usually pushed out to the back. Against those sit the Drayton Park Apartments, around 250 new-build flats in blocks raised beside the ground as part of the Highbury regeneration.
The road carries two kinds of kitchen
A terrace here has generally had a rear extension and a freestanding cooker or a range dropped into it. The new blocks are the opposite: a galley run, an integrated oven under the counter or at eye level, and a fan cover that has never come off. Racks, shelves, trays and side runners lift out and soak in a heated dip tank in the van; the cavity, fan cover and door glass are degreased by hand indoors with non-caustic products. Most of the flats are a single oven at £77.
Match days move where the van can sit
Islington suspends the parking bays on Drayton Park between Benwell Road and Bryantwood Road whenever they are wanted for coach parking, and the match-day controls run across zones E, F, G, H, J, L, N, Q and V. Zone G is the awkward one, controlled from 2pm on weekdays. The Ronalds Road and Horsell Road junction closure goes back in too, stewarded by the club. Tell us if there is a home game.

The station does something no other one on the line does
Drayton Park opened on 14 February 1904 and is the point where Northern City Line trains change power supply, third rail in the tunnel and overhead wires above ground, which sometimes shows as sparks or a momentary blackout. It is also shut before weekend matches and after every match: the island platform sits in a deep cutting, too narrow to hold a crowd.

Yes, but ring early so we can take a slot before the controls start. Mornings are easier when Arsenal are at home.
The oven is integrated behind a cabinet door. Does that change the price?
No. Prices are fixed on the phone and there is no premium-area surcharge. An integrated single is still £77.
Do I pay a call-out fee for N5?
No. There is no call-out fee anywhere inside the North and South Circular.
How long should I set aside?
About 90 minutes for a single, roughly two hours for a double. The oven is heat-tested before we leave.
