Two Croydons, one van
Most of our Croydon work splits two ways. In the town centre it is integrated single ovens in the tower blocks, Ten Degrees by East Croydon, Saffron Square with its purple facade, the Morello flats beside the tram; out in Selsdon and Shirley it is freestanding cookers and the odd range in a 1930s semi. Two different jobs, same tank.
In the Victorian terraces off Portland Road in South Norwood, and the Edwardian maisonettes along Bensham Manor Road in Thornton Heath, the freestanding cookers pull forward so we can reach the sides and back. Past the golf courses toward the Webb Estate at Upper Woodcote, the range cookers and the occasional two-oven AGA turn up in the big detached houses.
Parking and permits
Parking is a real part of the day here. All of Croydon has sat inside ULEZ since August 2023, so the van is compliant. What varies is where we can stop. The central permit zone and the outer CPZs at Thornton Heath, South Norwood, Sanderstead and Norbury mean a technician near the town centre often parks a short walk off and carries the racks and trays to the tank.
Selsdon, Shirley and Addington are the opposite. Driveways, quiet roads, park outside.
The tank stays in the van. Only the racks, shelves and trays leave the kitchen.
How the clean works
The racks, shelves, side runners and trays lift out and soak in a heated dip tank in the van. The cavity, the fan cover and the door glass are done by hand indoors with non-caustic products, so there is no caustic smell left afterward. Where the door design allows, we split it and clean the inner glass. Then the oven is reassembled, heat-tested and signed off before we leave.

End-of-tenancy work
A lot of the outer-Croydon terraces are lets. Thornton Heath, Addiscombe and South Norwood run Victorian and Edwardian terraces at yields around six per cent, and agents like Cray and Norton turn tenancies over often. When a check-out inventory flags the oven, the clean has to pass inspection. We do the shelves, the runners and the glass, because that is what a check-out clerk looks at.

Prices are the same across the whole borough. No premium-area surcharge for Sanderstead, no discount for the town centre. A single oven is £77 and takes about ninety minutes; a double is £110 and runs to roughly two hours. No call-out fee inside the North and South Circular.

Do you cover all of Croydon?
Yes. CR0, CR2 and CR7, plus the SE19 and SE25 pockets around Crystal Palace and South Norwood. Town centre, Thornton Heath, Addiscombe, Selsdon, Shirley, Norwood, the lot.
Is there a smell after the clean?
No. The heavy soaking happens in the tank in the van, and indoors we use non-caustic products by hand, so the kitchen does not reek of chemicals when we go.
Can you clean a range cooker or an AGA?
Yes. A 90cm range cooker is £114 and a two-oven AGA is £143. We see plenty of both toward Sanderstead and Upper Woodcote.
How long does a double oven take?
Around two hours for a standard double. A single is quicker, about ninety minutes.
