Crossharbour is named after Glengall Bridge, the crossing over Millwall Inner Dock, and the station opened on 31 August 1987 on the site of the old Millwall Docks railway station. For twelve years it was called Crossharbour and London Arena; the Arena came down in 2006 and the name went back. That water is still the thing that shapes the working day here, because a dock in the middle of a neighbourhood means walking round it.
Docksides on one side, St John's on the other
The St John's Estate was finished in 1969 in the triangle between East Ferry Road and Glengall Grove, and it runs to low-rise maisonettes and terraces alongside blocks like the ten-storey Alice Shepherd House with its 72 flats. Kitchens there are older and mostly take freestanding cookers. The dockside side is the opposite: LDDC-era and later flats, integrated single ovens, tight galley runs, and a hob and hood in the same metre of worktop as the oven.
The van does not fit under most of these blocks
A dip-tank van carries a heated tank, so it is tall. Where a dockside block offers only an undercroft car park, the height barrier rules the van out and the racks are carried in from the street instead. Nothing about that changes the price. It does mean a high floor adds a few minutes each way, and it is worth saying which floor you are on when you ring.

Can you do the hob at the same time?
Usually the sensible move. The hobs in the Glengall Grove flats are £23–28 depending on type, and doing it with the oven saves a second appointment.
What goes in the tank and what stays in the kitchen?
Racks, shelves, trays and side runners go out to the tank. Everything else, the cavity, the fan cover, the door glass, is degreased by hand at the appliance with non-caustic products, so there is no smell left behind.
