Crofton Roman Villa, beside Orpington station, was the house at the centre of a Roman farming estate, lived in from about AD 140 to 400. The remains of ten rooms survive inside a modern cover building, among them two opus signinum floors and a hypocaust, the Roman underfloor heating.
