The River Crane is the borough boundary at Cranford. The old village and its High Street are on the Hounslow side, a conservation area since 25 June 1991, while most of Cranford Park and the medieval St Dunstan's Church are across the water in Hillingdon.
Firs Drive, The Avenue and Cranford's 1930s houses
Beyond a few workers' terraces, little was built here until well into the twentieth century. The Avenue stayed empty until 1932, when the Berkeley Arms was moved onto it to make room for widening at Cranford Bridge, and the council's appraisal describes the side streets off it as detached and semi-detached houses of the 1930s. At the Bath Road junction stand three surviving corner blocks of Berkeley Parade, E B Musman's crow-stepped "château" buildings with little slate turrets. The Firs Drive estate, designed by D A Adam and built by John Laing and Sons in the same decade, has detached and semi-detached houses, some of them set around small greens, with hardstanding in front of the original garages.

South of the Bath Road
South of the Bath Road is a large spread of low-density interwar and postwar housing that followed the Great West Road in the 1920s: Berkeley Avenue, Byron Avenue, Waye Avenue, Meadowbank Gardens. Hounslow West is to the south, with the Great West Road as the dividing line. Parking in Cranford
Hounslow consulted on a controlled parking zone for the High Street area of Cranford in January and February 2024, then withdrew the proposal in July 2024, citing marginal support and limited feedback, and said there would be no changes to the current on-street restrictions. The council says entry boards show a zone's operating times, so read any board and sign you pass, and on the Bath Road itself read the restrictions before stopping. A drive or a garage hardstanding is the easiest place for the team to park.
