The residents here live above the shops. Then there is Odhams Walk, the estate the GLC built in 1979 on the old Odhams print works site, where the flats sit over a commercial podium and wrap around inner courtyards. Getting the van near the flat
Half of Covent Garden is pedestrianised. The piazza, James Street and the streets around the market building are closed to traffic, so we cannot pull up at the door the way we might in a suburb. Our technician parks on the nearest street that takes vehicles, inside Westminster's controlled parking zone, and carries the racks, shelves and trays to the van from there. They go into the heated tank to soak. Back in the flat, the cavity, fan cover and door glass are degreased by hand with non-caustic products, so there is nothing to air out afterwards.

Can you reach a flat on a pedestrianised street?
Yes. We park on the nearest street open to traffic and walk the racks to the van. It adds a few minutes, nothing more. It is normal work for us in Covent Garden.
My kitchen is tiny. Is that a problem?
No. The flats above the shops here are often short on space. We only need the oven cool and clear inside, and enough room to slide the racks out.
Do you do end-of-tenancy oven cleans for short lets?
Yes, and they are common around Seven Dials. We clean to a check-out standard and can leave a receipt for the letting agent or landlord.
Will there be a chemical smell after?
There should not be. The strong cleaning happens in the tank in the van. Inside the flat we use non-caustic products by hand.
