Most of the Coney Hall estate went up in the 1930s, built by the Morrell Brothers on old farmland, and those two-storey houses with polygonal bay windows and half-timbered gables still have the freestanding cookers and older double ovens we spend our mornings on. The kitchens off Glebe Way and Kingsway were not built around integrated appliances, so we pull out a lot of standalone units. Grease behaves the same whatever the postcode. It just builds up.
How the clean works here
Racks, shelves, trays and side runners come out and go into a heated dip-tank in the van. The cavity, fan cover and door glass are degreased by hand indoors, with products that carry no caustic smell, so nobody is left with fumes after we go. Where the design allows it, we split the door to reach the film between the panes. The oven is heat-tested and signed off before we leave. A single takes about ninety minutes; a double runs closer to two hours.
The 1930s kitchens here were never built around integrated appliances, so freestanding ovens are the norm.
Parking and the run to the van
Coney Hall sits in the London-wide ULEZ that reached the whole of Bromley in August 2023, and our van meets the standard, so that is not a charge you pay for. The estate roads off Layhams Road and Addington Road are wide enough to park close to the door, which matters because parts ferry to the tank and back. Nearer the shops the bays fill up. The nearest station is Hayes, not Coney Hall itself.

Do you cover the roads around Glebe Way and the recreation ground?
Yes. We work the full Coney Hall estate and across West Wickham generally, so the streets off Glebe Way, Kingsway and Layhams Road are all standard bookings for us.
Will there be a chemical smell in the kitchen after?
No. The hand-cleaning indoors uses non-caustic products, and the caustic dip happens in the tank out in the van. You can cook the same evening.
My oven is a freestanding cooker, not built in. Does that change the price?
It does not. A single cavity is £77 whether it is integrated or a freestanding unit, which is the type we see most often on the 1930s estate here.
Can you clean the hob and extractor at the same visit?
Yes, we do the hob and the extractor hood on the same visit, added to the oven price rather than as a second call-out.
