Most of our Clapham work is the Victorian terraces on the streets between the two Commons and the family houses around Abbeville Road. These were built out after the 1860s once the railway arrived, and a lot of them now hold a freestanding range cooker, because a 90cm Rangemaster drops into a period kitchen without ripping the whole room out. How we clean it
The racks, trays, shelves and side runners lift out and soak in a heated tank in the van. The cavity, the fan cover and the door glass are done by hand indoors with non-caustic products, so there is no chemical smell left behind, which counts in an open-plan Clapham kitchen where the cooker sits feet from the sofa. The door is split where the design allows, and the oven is heat-tested before we go.
Parking around the Common
Parking shapes the visit. Clapham runs its own controlled parking zones, the 'C' and the 'L', and the streets off Abbeville Road and around the Old Town fill up by mid-morning. All of it now sits inside the London-wide ULEZ. The van may end up a short walk away near Venn Street or the High Street, and that is no problem, because the parts travel to the tank and back either way.

Questions
Do you clean the range cookers common around Abbeville Road?
Yes. The 90cm range is our regular Clapham job, at £114, with the burners, the racks and both cavities taken back to the tank.
Will the kitchen smell of chemicals after?
No. The soaking happens in the van and the cavity is hand-cleaned with non-caustic products, so an open-plan room is fine to use straight away.
Can you park on my street?
Usually near enough. If the 'C' or 'L' zone bays are full we park close and carry the parts, which does not change the clean or the price.
How long will a double oven take?
About two hours. We heat-test it and sign it off before leaving so you can cook that evening.
