The Common itself is 220 acres, and the boundary runs straight through it: half sits in Wandsworth and half in Lambeth, though Lambeth manages the whole 89 hectares. A late-Georgian house on North Side has a kitchen built for a house, not a galley, which is why the cooker here is as often a 90cm range as a built-under single. A range is £114 and an oven with two cavities behind separate doors is £110. Terraces around Abbeville Road tend to have a side-return kitchen with one integrated oven at £77, done in about ninety minutes. If yours is a range cooker, say the width on the phone and the price is set there.
Sharer turnover keeps the end-of-tenancy work coming
Clapham runs on professional sharers, and the lettings offices sit right in the middle of it, with Jacksons on Abbeville Road and Winkworth covering Old Town, Abbeville Village, Clapham Park and the Diamond conservation area between them. Is there a surcharge because it is Clapham?
No. A single oven is £77 here and £77 anywhere we go. The postcode does not move the number.
Will the smell get into the rest of the flat?
It should not. The caustic side of the job happens in the heated tank in the van, and only non-caustic products come indoors, which is the point of splitting the work that way.
Can you clean the hood as well as the oven?
Yes. An extractor hood is £28 and a hob is £23–28. Booking them together saves a second visit.
