London Oven Cleaners do oven cleaning in Chorleywood from £77. Before we pack up you inspect the oven, lit, and any patch we missed is cleaned before we go.

In 1894 James Beckley bought the undeveloped land next to Chorleywood station, divided it into plots and sold them to local builders. The architect C. F. A. Voysey, who lived nearby at Orchard House, advised the builders' architects, and the Station Estate still shows it in steep gables, exposed rafter feet, stained glass and round windows.

The Station Estate and the roads around it

Three Rivers made the estate a conservation area in 1990. The council's 2005 appraisal counts 203 houses, of which only 40 were added later, so about four in five are Victorian or Edwardian, with large back gardens. It runs from the backs of Lower Road down to Blacketts Wood, with Quickley Lane on its east side and Shire Lane, Haddon Road, Hillside Road and South Road inside it. Beckley also gave land for the Baptist church, which opened in 1905.

The neighbouring estates came later: Hole Farm was built over during the Second World War, and Blacketts Farm became Dove Park in the 1960s. The 2021 Census shows how much of Chorleywood is detached. In Chorleywood North and Sarratt ward 69.4% of the 2,633 households lived in a detached house and 85.1% owned their home; in Chorleywood South and Maple Cross the detached share was 39.1%, with semis close behind at 33.1%.

Detached family kitchen with a built-in double oven

Houses of the 1890s and 1900s were built with solid-fuel kitchen ranges, so most kitchens there today are later refits, and the cooker in it could be anything from a built-in single to a 100cm range. Tell us which when you call and the price is fixed there and then.

Heronsgate, the Chartist settlement

South of the village, Heronsgate began as O'Connorville. In 1846 the Chartist leader Feargus O'Connor bought Heronsgate Farm, 103 acres, for his Land Company and laid it out in plots of two, three and four acres, which members won by lottery. Nottingham Road and Halifax Road come from that layout, and each house was built to relate to its own plot. Heronsgate has its own conservation area.

Permit parking zones in Chorleywood

Three Rivers runs several permit parking zones in Chorleywood, and their hours differ:

  • Green Street (GS): 7am to 2pm, Monday to Friday
  • Station Approach (ST): 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday
  • NL and NS, covering Lower Road, Main Parade, New Parade, North Road and parts of Shire Lane: 8am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday
  • OW and OZ, covering streets including Whitelands Avenue, Beechwood Avenue, Hillside Road, South Road, Capell Road and parts of Quickley Lane: the hours are on the signs

Several Station Estate roads fall in zone OZ. In every zone a resident can buy visitor vouchers in books of ten, and the van needs one in a resident bay during the restricted hours. Tell us your road when you book, so the team knows where to park. A Saturday still meets the NL and NS hours, while GS and ST run on weekdays only; the signs say what applies in OW and OZ.

A double oven or a range cooker?

A built-in double has two cavities stacked one above the other, usually a main oven below and a smaller top oven with the grill. It is £110 and takes about two hours. A range cooker stands on the floor with its ovens side by side and the hob on top: a 90cm range is £143 and takes two to three hours, and a 100cm model is £167. If the range hob or hood needs doing too, add £48. The double oven cleaning page has more detail.

Places near Chorleywood with their own pages

Sarratt, to the north-east, is a parish of its own, and Chandler's Cross lies within it. Loudwater is north of Rickmansworth, and Moor Park is further on, past Rickmansworth towards Northwood. Across the county boundary, Chenies is in Buckinghamshire despite its WD3 postcode.

Chorleywood oven cleaning questions

We live on Green Street. When is the best time for the van?

Green Street bays are for permit holders from 7am to 2pm on weekdays, so an afternoon slot or a weekend avoids the question. Weekends cost the same as weekdays.

Can you do the hob in the same visit?

Yes. A gas hob is £28 and a ceramic one £23; a single oven with the hob and extractor together is £117. There is more on hob cleaning.

How long does a double oven take?

About two hours; a 90cm range takes two to three hours. Dust sheets go down first, the removable parts are soaked and cleaned separately, and the cavity is cleaned by hand, normally in your kitchen.

What do you need from us on the day?

A working socket, the oven cool when we arrive, and somewhere for the van to park. If anything is not right when you look inside the lit oven, we put it right before we leave.

What customers tell us

Nice hardworking lads that always do a good job. We used them for our old flat when moving out and for the new one now, both jobs were done very professionally. My wife is very impressed with the results and would recommend them to friends and family.

PaulW5

I would certainly recommend this service, very efficient and good value for money. The young man did a great job and even cleaned the kitchen floor. Thank you.

SarahNW3

Arrived promptly and did a great job cleaning the oven, hob and extractor. They look like new now and for a very reasonable price too.
