Big kitchens, and the ones that pretend to be small
Chelsea is where we clean some of our grandest cookers. On the quiet period streets off the King's Road, around Cheyne Walk, Flood Street and Paultons Square, the houses are Georgian and Victorian, and many have a proper kitchen with an AGA or a Rangemaster in it, the kind of cast-iron cooker that has to be cleaned without caustic on the enamel. Set against that are the mansion blocks near Sloane Square and along the King's Road, and the serviced apartments at Chelsea Cloisters on Sloane Avenue, which run to a little combination oven and a hob each. Both are a normal week here.

- A heated soak tank in the van. Racks, shelves, trays and side runners lift out into it, so grease comes off the metal and not your worktop.

- The red-bordered stretches of the King's Road where stopping is banned in business hours, so we work the side streets off it instead.
How the clean runs
The lift-out parts soak in the van. Inside, the cavity, fan cover and door glass are degreased by hand with non-caustic products, so no chemical smell hangs about after, and where the door allows it we split it to clean between the glass. Every oven is heat-tested and signed off before we leave. A single is about ninety minutes, a double nearer two hours, an AGA longer again for the enamel and cast iron.
Parking off the King's Road
Parking is a real operational fact in SW3. The King's Road is a red route with no stopping in business hours, so we work a side street and carry the parts in. The whole area is a controlled parking zone with restricted daytime hours, and the streets towards the river fill quickly. Because the tank stays on board, we do not need a space at your door, which matters in a portered block where the nearest bay might be a street away. SW3 has been inside the ULEZ since October 2021, and our vans meet it.

Prices are fixed on the phone with no SW3 premium, and no call-out fee inside the Circulars. An AGA clean in a Chelsea kitchen is quoted the same as one anywhere else we work.

Yes, both are common in Chelsea. A two-oven AGA is £143 and a 90cm range is £114. The enamel and cast iron are cleaned without caustic, which is what these cookers need.
