On the slopes climbing towards Charlton Park the 1930s semis are roomier, often with a driveway, and a fair few have a wider range cooker in a rear kitchen. Closer to the river the newer apartments carry an integrated single oven fitted under the worktop. The interwar semis are the ones where the van gets an easy park. How we clean it
The shelves, trays, side runners and the fan cover come out and soak in a heated dip-tank in the van. The cavity, the fan and the door glass are degreased by hand indoors with non-caustic products, so there is no chemical smell left in the kitchen. We heat-test the oven and sign it off before we go. A single is about ninety minutes; a double or a range takes longer.
Parking, permits and ULEZ
Greenwich runs the Charlton controlled parking zone Monday to Saturday, roughly 9 to 6:30, over the Charlton Slopes streets and the roads near the station and The Valley, though the roads south of Charlton Park stay free. Since the whole of SE7 has sat inside the London-wide ULEZ since August 2023, our low-emission van is compliant, so no charge is passed on to you. We work around them. If Charlton Athletic are at home and your road goes permit-only, we book you for another day or a slot after the controls lift.
Can you clean a range cooker in a Charlton Park semi?
Yes. A 90cm range is a fixed £114. The oven doors and the removable parts soak in the van tank while we hand-clean the cavities.
Is there a charge for the ULEZ?
No. The van meets the ULEZ standard, so nothing is added for it, and there is no call-out fee inside the Circular.

Very satisfied with the service. They were slightly late at first but I got a call from customer service to let me know, and it was all fine. The oven man, as he called himself, arrived and worked very hard for a couple of hours. My oven now looks like it has never been used.
