Oven cleaning in Little Chalfont, the village round Chalfont and Latimer station, from £77 with London Oven Cleaners. You inspect the lit oven, and anything not right is put right before we leave.
Little Chalfont got its name in January 1925, when Chalfont St Giles Parish Council agreed, at the residents' request, that the houses by the station should be called Little Chalfont; until then they were Chalfont Road Village. The station had opened as Chalfont Road in 1889 and took the name Chalfont & Latimer in 1915. Latimer itself is a separate village to the north, in Latimer and Ley Hill parish, so this page is about Little Chalfont.
Housing in Little Chalfont, from bungalows to Turners Field
The village is young: the Buckinghamshire Heritage Portal calls it a modern settlement that grew up alongside the Metropolitan Railway and the A404. Beel House on White Lion Road, a small country house of the later 18th century and earlier, listed Grade II*, is older than the village by well over a century. The parish council describes the early 20th-century building as low, no more than two storeys plus a roof, sometimes with dormers, and bungalows were common in several roads, among them Oakington Avenue and Church Grove. Most of the Oakington Avenue bungalows survive, and the council says older residents moving out of larger houses look for them.
The two big recent schemes are 270 homes at Turners Field (off Bell Lane) and Old Mill Place, and 45 at Harvard Grange, completed in 2017. That brought the village to about 2,800 homes, the parish council says, an estimate based on the 2021 Census. The Census area that covers the village, Buckinghamshire 035 (7,164 residents, against 6,918 in the parish), held 2,803 households in 2021, and 44.7% of them lived in a detached house, 23.1% in a semi and 20.9% in a purpose-built flat. Seven in ten owned their home.

An older bungalow kitchen may well have been refitted more than once, while a house finished in the 2010s will usually have an integrated oven, under the worktop or in a tall unit. Neither changes the visit. Dust sheets cover the floor, the racks, trays, side runners and fan cover come out and are soaked and cleaned separately, and the cavity and glass are degreased by hand indoors.
Built-in single, built-under double or built-in double?
- Built-in single
- one cavity, usually about 60cm high, at eye level or under the worktop; £77
- Built-under double
- two cavities in a housing of about 72cm under the worktop, with a small top oven and grill; £110
- Built-in double
- two cavities in a tall unit, usually about 90cm high; £110 and about two hours on site
If you are not sure which you have, count the oven doors and say whether the oven sits under the worktop. Our double oven cleaning page has more on the two-cavity models.
Parking either side of the A404
The A404 runs through the middle of the village. According to the parish council, most of the shops, Dr Challoner's High School and Little Chalfont's only public car park are on the south side, while the station, a large development of flats for older people and the cycle path are on the north. A Buckinghamshire Council permit schedule published with a parking consultation in September 2024 lists two permit zones here: LC1, where every home on Chalfont Avenue is eligible, and LC2, for Nos 1 to 12 and 30 to 37 Beel Close. In LC1 each household can have one permit and up to 200 visitor permits. The schedule gives no hours, so read the signs on the street.
The team needs somewhere to park close to the house. If you live in a zone, Buckinghamshire Council says a resident can buy an on-street permit for visitors, for a set price and a short period.

Questions from Little Chalfont
I have moved into a bungalow on Oakington Avenue. What should I do before you come?
Leave the oven off so it is cool when we arrive, keep a socket free and clear the worktop beside it. The preparing for your oven clean guide has the full list.
My new-build oven has a pyrolytic setting. Can it still be cleaned by hand?
Yes. The self-clean setting only treats the empty cavity: the racks and side runners come out beforehand, and grease between the panes of the door glass usually stays put. By hand we do the cavity, the fan cover and the glass, and the door is split where its design allows.
Do you work on Saturdays?
Yes, and on Sundays. A weekend visit costs the weekday price, and the lines are open 8am to 6pm at weekends.
How long does a single oven take?
About 90 minutes on site.

Said after the sign-off
Brilliant clean, my oven looks like brand new. A 5 star clean.
Once again a great job guys, I will see you in a couple of months.
Nice hardworking lads that always do a good job. We used them for our old flat when moving out and for the new one now, both jobs were done very professionally. My wife is very impressed with the results and would recommend them to friends and family.
