Cathall lost both its towers. The estate went up in 1972 as two 20-storey blocks, Hornbeam Tower and Redwood Tower, with a network of eight-storey flats between them, and from the late 1990s the Waltham Forest Housing Action Trust pulled the high-rise down and rebuilt Cathall as low-rise housing. The leisure centre on Cathall Road, signed these days as Leytonstone Leisure Centre, is now the estate's most prominent building. Community-based Housing Association holds the stock.
Two towers down, low-rise up
That rebuild is why Cathall reads differently from the rest of E11. The 1990s houses and flats that replaced the slabs are a mix of social and private, and housing of that age generally came with an integrated single oven under the worktop rather than a freestanding cooker. A professional oven clean on one of those is £77 and runs to about ninety minutes. The Victorian terraces on the Leytonstone side are older stock, and that is where doubles and 90cm ranges are more likely to be sitting.
Where the van stops
Leytonstone West is a controlled parking zone with core hours of Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm, a narrow midday window next to most inner-London zones, although individual streets inside any zone can run their own hours and it is the sign on the bay that decides. Water and power come with the van. Nothing is run off your supply.

Do the racks really leave the flat?
They do. Racks, shelves, trays and side runners go out to the heated tank in the van and soak, while the cavity, fan cover and door glass are degreased by hand in the kitchen.
Is £77 the price or a starting point?
It is the price for a single oven, fixed on the phone. There is no premium-area surcharge anywhere we cover, E11 included.
Can you come at a weekend?
Yes, seven days. Weekends fill first.
Do you do end-of-tenancy work here?
Regularly. The door glass is split where the design allows so the inner faces can be reached, and that is the first thing an inventory clerk looks at.
