The name goes back to a house, not a park. Castle Beare stood here in the eighteenth century as a country seat, later called Castle Bear House and held by Lt General Frederick Wetherall, whose associate Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, had Castle Hill Lodge next door. Ealing Abbey occupies the ground now, and Castlebar Hill looks over Cleveland and Pitshanger parks toward the Brent Valley.

No Sunday trains, no ticket machine
Two trains an hour run between West Ealing and Greenford, weekdays and Saturdays only, worked by Class 165 diesels or Class 230 battery units. Sunday, nothing.
