SM5 runs from listed cottages to the St Helier fringe
Carshalton has three conservation areas, not one: the village around the ponds and the High Street, Wrythe Green, and Park Hill. Inside the village conservation area the houses are listed or locally listed, which means small kitchens and cookers wedged into spaces never designed for them. Park Hill is the other flavour, larger Victorian and Edwardian houses where a 90cm range cooker clean is a normal Saturday booking, while the northern edge of SM5 toward the Wrythe and the St Helier estate fringe is post-war council-built stock, much of it Right to Buy and now privately let.
That last bit is where most of our end-of-tenancy work here comes from.
The village is the hard part to park in
Honeywood Walk, by the ponds, has almost no on-street parking beyond a Blue Badge bay, and nor do the lanes off the High Street, because the conservation area kept the road layout it had before cars existed. The public car park off the High Street is five minutes away on the level, and that is where our van ends up for a village job. Carshalton also has its own permit area, CS1, controlled only 11am to 1pm on weekdays.
Carshalton is in the London Borough of Sutton, so it is inside the ULEZ. Our vans comply. Your price does not change.

The work itself
Shelves, trays, side runners and the fan cover soak in the heated tank in the van. Indoors the cavity and the door glass are degreased by hand with non-caustic products, and the door is split where the design allows so the inside face of the glass gets done rather than smeared. No smell left behind. Ninety minutes for a single, about two hours for a double.

Yes, and the roads off the A232 between the two. Separate stations, one patch.
My oven is in a listed cottage and it is a tight fit. Is that a problem?
Not usually. We do not pull the cooker out, and the tank stays outside in the van.
Can you do a Saturday for a checkout on the Monday?
Often, if you ring in the week. End-of-month weekends around the St Helier fringe go early. The technicians are insured and DBS-checked, and the same person turns up as was booked.

Very satisfied with the service. They were slightly late at first but I got a call from customer service to let me know, and it was all fine. The oven man, as he called himself, arrived and worked very hard for a couple of hours. My oven now looks like it has never been used.
I would certainly recommend this service, very efficient and good value for money. The young man did a great job and even cleaned the kitchen floor. Thank you.
