Canonbury Square is one of the earliest squares in Islington, and the villa-lined streets running off it toward the New River Walk are where a lot of our N1 work happens. These are Georgian and Regency houses with mid-Victorian villas mixed in, and because many of them have been split into flats over the years, the job type changes from one door to the next: in a whole villa we tend to find a range or a double, while the converted upper flats usually run a single built-in oven.
What actually happens on the day
Racks, shelves, trays and side runners come out and soak in a heated tank in the van. The cavity, fan cover and door glass we clean by hand indoors with non-caustic products. No fumes, and no chemical smell afterwards. We split the door where it allows to reach the glass, and the oven is heat-tested and signed off before we leave.
Canonbury Overground station on Wallace Road has no car park, and the surrounding streets are controlled Monday to Friday, so we plan the parking around your nearest cross street. Do I need a parking permit for you to come?
No. Many flats here are car-free and have no permit. We handle the parking ourselves.
Will the products smell in a small converted flat?
No. The by-hand work indoors is non-caustic, so there is no chemical smell in a compact kitchen. The strong soaking stays in the tank in the van.
Can you clean a range in a period house on the square?
Yes. We lift out the grates and burner caps to soak them and degrease the twin cavities by hand.
How quickly can you come?
