The Sopwith Camel and, later, the Hawker Hurricane were designed in a factory on Canbury Park Road. Sopwith started in a disused roller-skating rink there in 1912; the factory buildings went up in stages between 1913 and 1918, were listed Grade II in 1994, and are now the flats of Sigrist Square.

Flats in the old factory and beside Elm Park
The other kind of Canbury kitchen is in a flat: in the converted factory at Sigrist Square, or in the tall blocks the character study notes beside Elm Park. A flat is more likely to have a built-in single under the worktop. Zone B (Canbury) parking
Canbury Park Road, Deacon Road and Canbury Avenue are all on the council's list for Zone B (Canbury). The zone has several areas with their own hours on the council's list: the main area is Monday to Saturday, 8.30am to 6.30pm; the town-centre area, which includes part of Canbury Park Road, Cowleaze Road and Elm Crescent, runs Monday to Saturday until 10.30pm and on Sundays from 11am; and the outer areas are Monday to Friday, 10am to 3pm or 3.30pm. The street list does not say which area each street is in, so read the sign. Zone C (Canbury Gardens) is separate and covers Albany Park Road, Bank Lane and part of Lower Ham Road. The character study notes that in some narrow Victorian streets the parking is signed as verge parking but is in practice on the footway. Tell us your road when you book so the visit can be planned around a space for the van.

Is it more expensive at the weekend?
No. Saturdays and Sundays cost the same as weekdays, and you can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before.
I let a flat in Sigrist Square. Can the invoice go to my agent?

Very satisfied with the service. They were slightly late at first but I got a call from customer service to let me know, and it was all fine. The oven man, as he called himself, arrived and worked very hard for a couple of hours. My oven now looks like it has never been used.
