Camden Town with Primrose Hill was a council ward from May 2002 until May 2022, when its streets were shared between three new wards: Camden Town, Primrose Hill, and St Pancras and Somers Town.

The new Camden Town ward is the smallest in the borough by households, 2,816 at the 2021 Census, and one of the most commercial. 6.2% of its households lived in a commercial building, such as a flat over a shop, second only to Holborn and Covent Garden among Camden's 20 wards. Another 3.9% lived in some other converted building, and 58.9% in a purpose-built block.
The first Earl Camden began granting building leases on the southern part of his estate before his death in 1794. Pratt Street is named after him. When the Survey of London described Camden Town in 1952, most streets still had their original houses, though it judged them not distinguished enough to describe. Today many High Street ground floors are shops.
A flat over a shop is usually reached by a side door and a narrow stair, with a small kitchen at the top and a built-in single oven or a slim freestanding cooker. Parking in CA-F(n), controlled until 11pm
The station junction and the streets around Greenland Street are in Camden's CA-F(n) zone. The council's zone data, updated in September 2025, gives its controlled hours as 8.30am to 11pm on weekdays and 9.30am to 11pm on Saturdays and Sundays, among the longest in the borough. Nearly every daytime visit here falls inside the controls. A visitor permit in Camden is sold to a resident for a guest, and builders, trades and service providers have their own trade permit, so the street name is the first thing we ask for.
