Bushey Mead is a small ladder of terraced streets between Wimbledon Chase and Raynes Park stations; the twelve cul-de-sacs there, running from Kingston Road down towards Bushey Road, are known locally as the Apostles.
The twelve Apostles roads
Merton's character study for Raynes Park says the twelve roads were laid out on a building estate south of Kingston Road, growing from Bronson Road to Gore Road over thirteen years, and that most of the houses are Edwardian. Each road was lengthened later, so the style changes along it. At the eastern end the terraces are yellow stock brick with a red brick decorative course and shallow double bays; from Edna Road westwards come gabled double bays, oriel windows and red tile hanging. Short rows of red brick houses from the 1950s fill gaps on Chestnut Road, Vernon Avenue and Carlton Park Avenue, and the study records a turreted building at the Kingston Road end of Prince George's Avenue that was the Conservative and Unionist Club.
In the small Census area that includes Chestnut, Sydney and Edna Roads (Merton 011B), 59.3% of the 725 households lived in a terraced house in 2021 and 14.5% in part of a converted or shared house. Of 726 households, 66.5% owned their home and 29.9% rented privately.
Edwardian terrace kitchens
A terrace of this size usually has its kitchen in a back addition, a narrow room behind the main house. Many have since been extended or knocked through, which is when a built-in double or a wider cooker tends to arrive. Parking on the Apostles: zones A1 and RPS
These are cul-de-sacs, and the study notes emergency vehicle access points at the Bushey Road end of a number of them, so the way in is from Kingston Road. On Merton's April 2026 list, Bronson, Chestnut, Dupont and Sydney Roads are in zone A1; Edna Road, Dorien Road, Aston Road, Gore Road, Vernon Avenue, Prince George's Avenue, Carlton Park Avenue and Clifton Park Avenue are in RPS. Both are controlled Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 6.30pm, per Merton's Raynes Park zones page. The van needs a bay, so give us the road and house number.

Very satisfied with the service. They were slightly late at first but I got a call from customer service to let me know, and it was all fine. The oven man, as he called himself, arrived and worked very hard for a couple of hours. My oven now looks like it has never been used.
Nice hardworking lads that always do a good job. We used them for our old flat when moving out and for the new one now, both jobs were done very professionally. My wife is very impressed with the results and would recommend them to friends and family.
