At the station end of Queen Anne's Place stands a red-brick building with a copper-domed corner tower, put up in 1905-06 as the Bush Hill Park estate office, a showpiece to attract buyers. It became a bank in 1911-12, Barclays traded there until the 1990s, and it is now a nursery.
Gabled houses west of the line, terraces to the east
The land was offered for sale in 1871, advertised as right for small houses near the stations, and the Bush Hill Park Company bought it. What got built was split by the Enfield Town railway. West of the line went detached houses, many gabled and tile-hung, in big gardens on tree-lined roads; Wellington, Village and Private Roads had houses by 1897, and No. 8 Private Road, designed by Arthur Mackmurdo around 1883, stood out for its flat roof. East of the line the terraces ran in straight rows: Main Avenue by 1897, then Millais Road in 1899, Poynter Road in 1901-03 and Landseer Road in 1903. The western estate and the streets round the station have been the Bush Hill Park conservation area since the late 1980s, and Private Road was added in 1994. Houses of this age were built with the kitchen and scullery at the back. Many have since been knocked through or extended, and that bigger room is often where a 90cm range or a built-in double ends up.

Parking near Bush Hill Park station
The council looked at a controlled parking zone here alongside its walking and cycling route from Enfield Town to Ponders End, whose Bush Hill Park section opened in summer 2024. In February 2025 it said the zone would not go ahead for now, and that any future scheme would need its own statutory consultation. Check the signs on your street all the same, and give us the road name when you book, because the team needs somewhere to park.

No. Bush Hill is a road in N21, about 1.2 km to the west on the far side of the golf course, on the old Edmonton boundary.
My house is in the conservation area. Does that affect an oven clean?
No. Nothing in the house is altered; the cooker is stripped, cleaned and put back as it was.
Can the range hob be cleaned at the same visit?
Yes. The hob of a range cooker is £48, added to the range price.
How long does a 90cm range take?
Two to three hours, depending on its state. When it is back together it is heated, and you look it over before we pack up.
