Bromley North station is the terminus of a short branch line, barely two miles long, worked by a shuttle to Grove Park that the railway staff call the popper, and it runs two trains an hour with nothing at all on Sundays. The housing that fans out from it is older than the town-centre towers: two-storey Victorian stock-brick terraces along Widmore Road, where an independent parade was smartened up under a shop-front scheme, and larger period villas up towards Sundridge Park and Plaistow Lane. Those villa kitchens often kept a double oven or a range, so the job here skews bigger than the flats around Bromley South. The Compass on the corner is an Arts and Crafts pub, a marker for the older grain here.
Village terraces and villas

Parking eases the further you get from the station. Around Widmore Road and the village parade there are daytime controlled bays, but on the villa roads towards Sundridge Park there is usually kerb space near the door, which keeps the carry to the van short. All of BR1 is inside the ULEZ and there is no premium for this postcode.
