Terraces and conversions
Most of our Brent work is the Victorian and Edwardian terraces through Willesden, Harlesden and Kensal Rise, where many houses have been split into flats and the kitchen ends up with a freestanding gas cooker. Roughly one Harlesden home in six is a terrace, most pre-1920s, and the flats above the shops on the High Street and along Church Road are conversions of that stock. A slot-in with a glass lid, a single cavity, a grill above it. The racks and pan support lift straight out to the heated tank in the van, while the cavity, fan cover and inner door glass are degreased by hand with non-caustic products, so no caustic smell is left behind.
North of the railway it flips. Kingsbury, Kenton and Preston are inter-war semis with the 1930s kitchens long knocked through, so those tend to hold a built-in oven instead.
Wembley Park flats
The other half of the borough is new. Quintain has put up close to six thousand homes around the stadium on its Wembley Park build-to-rent estate, heading for eighty-five hundred by 2027, and the flats off Olympic Way come with an integrated single oven, an induction or ceramic hob and a built-in extractor. A single oven is £77 and takes about ninety minutes; the door splits where the design allows so we reach the back glass. Chalkhill next door, the old high-rise estate rebuilt low-rise by the mid-2000s, takes the same clean.
The event-day problem
Parking matters because the racks ride to the tank in the van and back, and Wembley adds a wrinkle nowhere else in London has. On stadium event days the protective parking scheme overrides the normal hours: main roads to the ground run 8am to midnight, residential zones 10am to midnight, and a standard Brent resident permit does not exempt you. So a booking on an HA9 street near the ground has to dodge match and concert days. The whole borough has sat inside the ULEZ since August 2023, which the van meets.
Prices and what fits the borough
Prices are fixed on the phone with no premium-area surcharge, so a converted flat in Harlesden pays the same as a house in Brondesbury. The 90cm range rate covers the wider Rangemaster and Stoves cookers in the knocked-through kitchens; the AGA rate is for the cast-iron ranges in the larger period houses.

The big cookers
The south-east corner is a different market. Brondesbury Park and the Mapesbury conservation area hold large Edwardian villas, and streets like Manor House Drive run to six-bedroom detached houses with the sort of kitchen that gets a range cooker or a cast-iron AGA. When those come up the two-oven AGA clean around Brondesbury Park is the booking, and it takes longer because every enamel plate and both cast ovens are done by hand. Rental churn is heavy too. Willesden Green carries a thick band of letting agents, Empire Estates and Harsun among them, so end-of-tenancy cleans run steady all year.
