Brent Park is a retail area, not a neighbourhood of houses. Tesco bought the 43-acre site by the North Circular in 1978 and, after objections from the council, opened what was then London's largest food store there in 1985.
The few streets of homes by Brent Park
The IKEA store next door stands where the Ascot Gas Water Heater factory used to be. Beside that factory Willesden council put up 37 prefabs after the war, a site called Ascot Park, and ten more on the North Circular either side of the Pantiles pub. A former resident's account, kept by the Wembley History Society, says all but three of the ten on the North Circular were cleared in the late 1950s for the pub's car park, and that his family's was the last prefab on either site to be vacated, in March 1968.
Today the homes nearest the retail park are in a handful of closes round Great Central Way and Drury Way, among them Yeats Close and Hardie Close, with the old Great Central Railway workers' houses on Gresham Road and Woodheyes Road. In the small Census area (Brent 021B) that covers them, there were 513 households in 2021: 64.7% rented from the council or a housing association, 38.8% lived in a purpose-built flat and 31.0% in a terraced house.
The larger estate is St Raphael's, just south of the superstores, with the North Circular on one side and the River Brent on the other. It was built between 1967 and 1982 and has about 1,174 homes, of which Brent Council managed 807 when it reviewed the estate in 2018. The cooker may be a built-in single or a tenant's own freestanding one; either way the shelves, trays and side runners come out and are soaked and cleaned separately, while the cavity and door glass are degreased by hand indoors.

Parking for the van near Brent Park
Brent's parking map shows no controlled parking zone on the closes round Great Central Way, so there are no permit hours there on an ordinary day. St Raphael's is mixed: Conduit Way and Normansmead, on the southern side, fall inside zone T, which the map lists as operating at any time, while Wrights Place and the northern streets are outside any zone. All of it lies inside the Wembley event day zone. When the stadium has an event, only residents and businesses with an event day permit may park on residential streets outside a zone, generally from 10am to midnight, which is the sort of day to avoid. The team needs somewhere to park for the whole visit.
