Most of our Bow work is the Victorian terraces off Roman Road and the flats in the old factory conversions. The terraces that survived the twentieth-century clearances went up between the 1860s and the 1890s, and their knocked-through kitchens tend to hold a freestanding cooker or a fitted double with a separate hob. A short walk away, Bow Quarter, the old Bryant and May match factory on Fairfield Road turned into apartments, and the newer blocks at Fish Island Village fit an integrated single oven instead. Terraces, estates and conversions
On a terrace near Tredegar Square or the streets off Roman Road the racks, shelves and pan supports lift out to the heated tank in the van, and the cavity, fan cover and inner door glass are degreased by hand with non-caustic products indoors, so a narrow galley behind a Victorian front is left with no chemical smell. The big council estates, Lincoln and Malmesbury among them, usually run a freestanding cooker, single cavity and grill, which is the straight £77 clean. A fitted double is £110, and on the match-factory and Fish Island flats the integrated single splits where the design allows so the back glass gets reached.

Prices are fixed on the phone with no surcharge for an E3 address, so a terrace on Tredegar Road pays the same as a flat in the old factory. The 90cm range rate covers the Rangemaster and Stoves cookers that turn up in the wider terrace kitchens; the two-oven AGA is a rarity in Bow but the rate stands.
Market day and parking
Parking is a genuine factor here, because the racks ride to the tank and back. Roman Road Market runs Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and has done for more than 150 years, so the streets around it fill early on those days and the north Bow zone carries Saturday controls on top of the weekday hours. The A12 and the Bow flyover along the Blackwall Tunnel Northern Approach are red routes with no stopping at all, so we work off the side streets. Bow sits inside the ULEZ. End of tenancy near Roman Road
Bow turns tenants over quickly, and the letting agents cluster along Roman Road and Bow Road, so the end-of-tenancy oven clean stays busy all year. A landlord or an outgoing tenant wants the oven heat-tested and signed off before the check-out. Can you come on a market day?
Yes, though Roman Road Market days fill the nearby streets, so give us the road and we plan parking around it. We book seven days a week.
How long does an oven take?
About ninety minutes for a single and closer to two hours for a double. A 90cm range takes a little longer.
