Botany Bay sits where The Ridgeway, the A1005, meets East Lodge Lane, a hamlet of maybe two hundred people rather than a suburb, and the housing tells you what to expect in the kitchen: older farm cottages off Whitewebbs Lane and Clay Hill, plus newer gated builds like the five-bedroom detached homes on Spring Court Road, so the larger family kitchens here run range cookers and two-oven AGAs rather than a small built-in single.

Because the plots are big and the houses detached, a good share of the bookings are 90cm range cookers and the odd AGA in a farmhouse-style kitchen. The older cottages near the Rose and Crown often have a freestanding cooker that has never been stripped down properly.
How the clean is done
The racks, shelves, trays and side runners come out and soak in a heated tank in the van. The cavity, fan cover and door glass we degrease by hand indoors with non-caustic products, so there is no chemical smell after, and the oven is heat-tested before we sign it off. A single takes about ninety minutes; a two-oven AGA is nearer half a day. For the range work here, the range oven cleaning is the booking most of these kitchens need.
Parking and access
This is the easy part. There is no controlled parking zone up here the way there is in Enfield Town, so the van parks on the drive or the lane and the racks carry a short distance. The ULEZ boundary runs just south of East Lodge Lane, which puts most of the hamlet outside the charge. There is no call-out fee inside the North and South Circular.

I have a two-oven AGA. Do you actually clean those?
Yes. Both ovens, the hotplates and the enamel top are done by hand over roughly half a day. We ask you to turn it off the night before so it is cool to work on.
Do the big detached houses cost more to clean?
No. The price is by oven type, not by the size of the house or the postcode. A single is £77 out here the same as anywhere.
Can you come at the weekend?
Seven days. Weekends fill first, so give a few days notice.
