Oven cleaning around Birkbeck, SE20, from the estate roads off Elmers End Road across to the Penge end. Single ovens from £77, doubles £110.
Birkbeck is named after a building society. The station on Elmers End Road opened on 2 March 1930 and took its name from the Birkbeck Freehold Land Society, which had itself been named for George Birkbeck, the Yorkshire physician who co-founded what became Birkbeck College.
Houses built to win a vote
The Birkbeck Land and Building Societies were launched inside the London Mechanics' Institute in 1851 to give students and others a route to a home and, with it, a vote, and they grew for a period into the largest building society in the world while putting up 35 estates. Ravenscroft, Birkbeck, MacKenzie and Clement roads were part of one of them, and the Birkbeck estate here dates from 1870 to 1910. That is the stock. Modest freehold houses built for clerks and artisans, with kitchens at the back that have usually been extended since. Where that extension went in, the cooker is often a built-under double oven at £110 rather than a freestanding one.
The tram stop and the parking around it
The single-platform Tramlink stop opened in 2000 and runs every ten minutes between Beckenham Junction and Wimbledon by way of Croydon, which put more movement through a small corner that also has the crematorium beside the station. Parking near the stop can be awkward. It costs you nothing either way: no call-out fee inside the North and South Circular, no premium on the postcode. The van carries the heated dip tank, so racks, shelves, trays and side runners soak out there while the cavity, fan cover and door glass are done by hand indoors with non-caustic products.

SE20 says Anerley on my post. Am I in the right place?
Yes. SE20 was officially named Anerley but takes in Anerley, Penge and part of Beckenham. We cover all of it.
The kitchen is in a back extension with no side access. Is that a problem?
No. Parts are carried out through the house to the van, over protection that we lift when we go.
How do I know whether mine is a single or a double?
Two cavities is a double at £110, one is a single at £77. A tall unit with an oven and a separate grill box is usually still a single. Describe it on the phone.
Do you take the door apart?
Where the design allows we split it and clean the inner faces. Some sealed doors on newer appliances cannot be opened safely, and we say so rather than force one.

Reviews from our rounds
Brilliant clean, my oven looks like brand new. A 5 star clean.
I would certainly recommend this service, very efficient and good value for money. The young man did a great job and even cleaned the kitchen floor. Thank you.
Nice hardworking lads that always do a good job. We used them for our old flat when moving out and for the new one now, both jobs were done very professionally. My wife is very impressed with the results and would recommend them to friends and family.
