Beckenham Junction opened on 1 January 1857 as the end of the Mid-Kent Railway's line from Lewisham, and became a junction on 3 May 1858 when the line from Crystal Palace to Shortlands came through.

The original Mid-Kent building, partly rebuilt in 1890, is still the booking hall. Beckenham's parking zones
Bromley's permit table lists several Beckenham zones, and their hours are far apart. Copers Cope (R) is controlled from 8am to 9.30am on weekdays. Beckenham (BEC) runs every day of the week, from 8.30am to 8pm in the table, and Bromley's Traffic Management Orders 2026 Nos 15 and 16, in force from 10 August 2026, extended it to midnight on roads south of the High Street: Bevington, Burnhill, Fairfield, Kelsey Park, Lea and Manor Roads, Stanmore Terrace and Kelsey Square.
