Battersea splits into three for us. Along the river at Nine Elms it is new-build towers, Embassy Gardens and Vista and the Frank Gehry-designed Prospect Place, almost all with a single integrated oven behind a fitted door. The middle band, the Victorian grid between Lavender Hill and Battersea Park Road, is where the families are and where most of our week goes. Parking by the Power Station
Parking shapes the job in Battersea. Most of SW11 is a controlled parking zone, so the technician has to land a permit-bay or pay-and-display space near enough to walk the racks back to the tank, and in the newer Nine Elms plots, which are often carved out of the resident permit scheme, that walk can be longer than you would think for a place with its own tube station. Battersea Power Station has been on the Northern line since 2021, but the van still needs a legal kerb. The whole area is inside ULEZ at £12.50 a day.
