Seven mansion blocks face the park along Prince of Wales Drive, built between 1892 and 1902 and commissioned by Charles Julius Knowles. From the Albert Bridge Road end they are Park, Norfolk, Cyril, Overstrand, Primrose, York and Prince of Wales Mansions.

Wandsworth's 2014 appraisal of the Battersea Park conservation area says the blocks were meant to recreate the splendour of the mansion blocks over the river in Chelsea and to attract a higher class of resident than elsewhere in the area at the time. They are five storeys high, in a Queen Anne style with Dutch gables, and have no gardens; most have a service yard at the back. G. K. Chesterton lived at 60 Overstrand Mansions and Sean O'Casey at 49, and both flats carry blue plaques.
Five floors in a block of the 1890s may mean a lot of stairs. Either way the racks, trays and side runners come out and are soaked and cleaned separately, while the cavity, fan cover and door glass are degreased by hand in the kitchen. Tell us the floor, and whether there is a lift, when you book.

Parking in the Battersea Park zone
Prince of Wales Drive is in zone B, Wandsworth's Battersea Park zone. The council's parking controls search gives the hours as 9am to 8pm, Monday to Sunday, with pay-and-display at £3.70 an hour and a four-hour limit; the zone page adds that bank holidays are included. So a Sunday morning is controlled like any weekday. Zone permits are not valid inside the park itself, nor on private or housing estate roads.
A single oven takes about 90 minutes and a double about 2 hours, both inside the four-hour limit.

Is Sunday parking free by the park?
No. Zone B is controlled from 9am to 8pm every day, so a weekend visit needs a paid bay or a visitor permit, the same as a weekday. A weekend visit costs the weekday price.
Can you clean a range cooker in a park-facing flat?
