Barnsbury is the largest conservation area in Islington, and most of our work here is in the late-Georgian and early-Victorian terraces around Thornhill Square, Cloudesley Square and Gibson Square. Those houses are three or four storeys of stock brick, and because the kitchen is usually down in the old basement or out in a rear return, that layout shapes the whole visit, since carrying oven racks up an area staircase to the van is the slow part of any Barnsbury job.
Parking on the squares
Nearly every street here is permit-only, part of Islington's controlled parking, and daytime kerb space near the squares is tight. We know it. We park as close to the front area railings as we can and keep the trips short. Caledonian Road & Barnsbury station and the run of shops on Thornhill Road are the reference points we work around.

The method is the dip-tank. Racks, shelves, trays and the side runners lift out and go into a heated tank in the van. The cavity, the fan cover and the door glass we degrease by hand indoors with non-caustic products, so there is no chemical smell left in a basement kitchen with little airflow. A single is about ninety minutes, a double nearer two hours. Some of the larger family houses on the squares run a period range, and our double oven cleaning covers both cavities, the grill and the runners in the one visit.

Do you cover N7 as well as N1?
Yes. Barnsbury straddles both, so we clean the whole area from the squares down toward Caledonian Road and across to Liverpool Road.
My kitchen is in the basement. Is that a problem?
No. It is the usual layout here. Only the racks travel to the van; the by-hand work stays put, and the non-caustic products mean no lingering smell in a low-airflow room.
Can you work around the parking restrictions?
We do it every week. Give us the nearest cross street when you book and we will sort the rest on the day.
Do you help with end-of-tenancy cleans?
