Angel Road station closed in June 2019 and Meridian Water opened about 580 metres south to replace it, and that new station now sits at the centre of most of what we clean here. This is a £6bn, twenty-year regeneration on a 210-acre ex-industrial site by the River Lea, so the housing splits two ways. There are the new-build flats going up in phases like Meridian One, which is 977 homes, almost all fitted with a single integrated oven built into the units. Getting the van in around the A406
The North Circular A406 cuts through here and it is a red route, so the van does not stop on it. For a Meridian Water flat the technician parks in the development's own bays; for a terrace off Fore Street or the Angel Edmonton end, we set a slot before arrival. The IKEA on the retail park is the landmark everyone gives us for directions. It sits inside the regeneration zone as one of the big landowners.
New-build handover cleans are steady here. When a Meridian One flat is signed off, the integrated oven is what gets checked, and a single oven clean at £77 brings it back to standard in about ninety minutes.

Do you clean the integrated ovens in the new Meridian Water flats?
Yes. The integrated single oven is the most common job we do in N18. We clean the fixed cavity in place and take everything that lifts out to the tank in the van.
Where do you park at Meridian Water?
In the development's own bays. We never stop on the A406, which is a red route. The technician carries the racks in from wherever the van sits.
Is there a smell after the clean?
No. The caustic soaking is in the van tank. Indoors it is non-caustic and by hand, and the oven is heat-tested and signed off before we go, so you can cook that evening.
Can you come at the weekend?
We work seven days. Handover and end-of-tenancy weekends fill up, so call ahead if your move date is fixed.
