London Oven Cleaners clean ovens across Amersham from £77. The oven is heated and you inspect it before we leave; anything not right is cleaned again there and then.
Amersham's Market Hall on the High Street has the Drake monogram and the date 1682 carved on its side walls, and it is listed Grade II*.
Amersham's two halves, valley and hill
Old Amersham sits in the valley of the River Misbourne. Amersham-on-the-Hill grew from 1892, when the Metropolitan Railway arrived. Thomas Tyrwhitt Drake of Shardeloes did not want to see the line from his house, so he sold the railway land from his Hyrons Farm on Amersham Common, nearly a mile above the old town. Building up there was slow at first for want of mains water, and it picked up once the water tower at Coleshill was finished in 1915.
Much of the early new town is Arts and Crafts work by the local architect John Kennard, among it Oakfield Corner of 1912 and the houses of The Avenue. After the First World War he built 30 semi-detached houses on Elm Close for the Amersham Public Utility Company, from concrete blocks cast on site.
Amersham spreads over three 2021 Census wards, and two of them are quoted here. Penn Wood and Old Amersham, which takes in the old town, had 4,426 households, half of them (50.5%) in detached houses, and 78.7% were owner-occupied. Amersham and Chesham Bois, which takes in the hill around the station as well as Chesham Bois, had 39.7% detached, 22.7% semi-detached and 19.7% in purpose-built flats.

As a rule, a small cottage kitchen has room for a single oven or a slot-in cooker, while a refitted 1930s semi is more likely to have a built-in double. Wherever you are, the racks and trays come out and are soaked and cleaned separately, and the cavity and door glass are cleaned by hand in the kitchen.
High and Over and the Sun Houses
On the slope above the old town stands High and Over, a Y-shaped modernist house built from 1929 to 1931 by Amyas Connell for the classical archaeologist Bernard Ashmole, and listed Grade II*. Connell also designed four reinforced-concrete Sun Houses on the approach road, listed Grade II. Ashmole's garden fared worse: a 1960s housing development, now Highover Park, covered a large part of the grounds.
Many built-in ovens sold in recent years have a pyrolytic setting, which burns off soiling at very high heat. It leaves the racks and trays to you, and the manual says which to take out first; our page on pyrolytic self-cleaning against a professional clean sets out what each one reaches.
Parking in Old Amersham and on the hill
Buckinghamshire Council lists four car parks in Amersham: Amersham Old Town, the Amersham multi-storey, Chiltern Avenue and Sycamore Road. A car park is rarely close to the house, so the team needs somewhere to park nearby. Where a street has resident permit bays, visitors cannot buy a visitor permit themselves; the resident buys it for them. When you book, tell us the street and whether it is in the old town or on the hill.

Said after the sign-off
Very satisfied with the service. They were slightly late at first but I got a call from customer service to let me know, and it was all fine. The oven man, as he called himself, arrived and worked very hard for a couple of hours. My oven now looks like it has never been used.
Once again a great job guys, I will see you in a couple of months.
Nice hardworking lads that always do a good job. We used them for our old flat when moving out and for the new one now, both jobs were done very professionally. My wife is very impressed with the results and would recommend them to friends and family.
