Abbey Road DLR station opened on 31 August 2011 on the Stratford International extension, with pedestrian access from Abbey Road itself and from Bakers Row, and it sits in West Ham in the London Borough of Newham. This is the Newham Abbey Road. The Westminster one, with the zebra crossing and the recording studios, is about nine miles west, which is why Transport for London puts up signs here pointing visitors back across town.
The road is named after an abbey
Abbey Road takes its name from Stratford Langthorne Abbey, which stood nearby. The station was dropped onto the original alignment of the Eastern Counties and Thames Junction Railway, open between Stratford and Canning Town since 1846 and later part of the North London Line, so the route is far older than the platforms on it. Off-peak there are six trains an hour each way, and the station recorded about 1.24 million entries and exits in 2024.
Bakers Row is set to change
Finebeam Ltd has applied to redevelop Abbey House on Bakers Row, taking down the existing block of flats and putting back a row of terraced mews houses along with a building of four to fourteen floors, 74 homes in all. Mews houses and tower flats do not share an oven. A house of that build normally gets a tall housing unit with two cavities stacked in one column, which is a double oven at £110 and around two hours, while the flats usually take a single at £77 in about ninety minutes.
Nothing caustic comes through your door
Racks, shelves, trays and side runners come out and soak in the heated tank in the van. The cavity, fan cover and door glass are done by hand indoors with non-caustic products. The oven is heat-tested and signed off before we leave, and the figure quoted on the phone is the figure, with no call-out fee inside the North and South Circular.

No. That one is in Westminster, and St John's Wood on the Jubilee line is the stop for it. This Abbey Road is in Newham, between Stratford and West Ham. London has around eleven roads of the name.
